John P. Hayes is a Political Scientist interested in the intersection of the renewable energy transition, the extractive industries, and environmental politics. He is currently the Research Coordinator of the Extractive Resource Governance Program at the University of Calgary’s School of Public Policy. He is also a PhD Candidate (ABD) in the Department of Political Science at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. His academic writing has been published in The Extractive Industries & Society, Conflict and Society, and two co-edited books (Routledge 2023; Palgrave Macmillan, forthcoming).
